The food was really good, service was fast as well, prices decent (paid 50 for four people as a platter). The owner, Amaan, was on hand to help out as well, very friendly! Would definitely recommend :)

We recently ordered a whole lamb party platter from Tavah for a group event, and it exceeded all expectations. The lamb was perfectly cooked—tender, bursting with flavour, and beautifully presented. The quality of the food impressed every guest, making it the centrepiece of our gathering. A special thanks to Aman and Imran, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was flawless. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care for our satisfaction made the entire experience seamless and stress-free. They not only delivered excellent food but also provided outstanding service that left a lasting impression. *EDIT after another visit* Visited with large family party of over 30 people... Superb experience. Excellent food. Great, friendly service. Absolutely fantastic halal food. Very nice tastes across all the dishes. Visited for the first time (after a bit of hesitation) but no regrets. Tava Platter was great but the Karachi Nihaari Special (Lamb Shank) and the Masala Fish was exceptional. Nice family restaurant. Friendly service.

Lovely food at Tavah! We had the Tavah Special Grill for two, which typically comes with rice and chips, but we opted for vegetables instead, and the waiter was happy to accommodate our dietary needs. The meat was tender and juicy, perfectly cooked, and seasoned with delicious, unique spices that really elevated the dish. Even the naan bread stood out—flavorful and not your typical version! A special touch was the chef coming over to introduce himself, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The portions were generous, and given the reasonable prices, it’s excellent value for money. Definitely a great spot for a tasty dinner, and we’d happily go back again!

A hidden gem deep in the heart of St. Albans city. Great food, authentic flavors and friendly service. The Tava platter should be a must have. The owner's are also on hand to recommend something. Overall a great place.

We finally got round to trying the Tavah Platter for four. It was absolutely delicious. Packed with flavour and perfectly cooked. A great way to try a few different dishes. The staff were kind and friendly and we all left the restaurant feeling very happy. We will definitely be back soon.

My husband and I came for the breakfast menu this morning. It’s so hard to find a good quality Pakistani breakfast so we were excited to try it! We went for the halwa puri and nihari with an extra paratha and desi tea. It was absolutely lush! The nihari was so fresh and falling off the bone. And the flavours were insane! We will be back again, Insha’Allah.

A truly super place. From the outside it looks like a simple cafe but the food is far from that. Excellent fare, excellent service. 8 out of 10. The food can take a little long if there are a lot of online orders and the door has to remain open which can get a bit chilli if you are sat near it. Other than that...the curries were scintillating and masala fish fantastic.
